loves. his family, his twin brother and baby sister, italian food, italian women, italian things in general, watching movies from any time period, dark comedies, smoking hookah, doing spontaneous things at all hours of the night, being on roofs for anything because it makes him feel closer to god, swimming, wooing women, taking women on dates, watching the sunrise or sunset, wearing suits, looking good, his line of work, watching his ideas come to life, when he gets a great shot, throwing cast parties, throwing parties in general.

jude is a bit of a daredevil. he likes to take risks, and he'll try anything once. he's not stupid exactly, but he does believe that you should always try something before you knock it. he's been skydiving once, bungee jumping three times, and has tried every type of food you could imagine. he's not one to be shy about trying new things because he's such a sporadic person. he's quite intelligent though, and he knows the boundaries of his own body. he will not do anything that might put himself or others (especially his family) in danger, but he likes to have fun. jude is selfless when it comes to family. he will drop anything and everything to run and be by his twin brother's side, or to be with his sister, mother, or father. that being said, jude also likes to take care of himself. he doesn't like to look sloppy or not put together, which is why 98% of the time (unless something has gone wrong) jude looks quite dapper.

jude is quite spontaneous. he's the kind of guy that would call you up in the middle of the night to have you watch the sunrise, and then cook you breakfast afterwards. nothing is boring with jude, and he will not stand for things losing their fun. he will find something to do, if it means making a paper chain out of straw wrappers on set. he's creative that way, with his mind and with random objects lying around. he's collected and calm most of the time, but jude finds that he can't always sit still when he's bored because he must constantly be looking for something to do. he's a great conversationalist and will carry on conversations for weeks if you let him. jude doesn't like to just talk about himself--even though sometimes there's a lot to talk about--because he's curious and is always wondering what's happening with other people. you might say he's a bit nosy, the way he questions and inquires about other people's lives. having that quality also makes him a good listening and you might think this also makes him untrustworthy, but the opposite is true.

jude is quite loyal and trustworthy, as he expects his friends to be for him. he will take your secret to the grave with him if he must, and he will always be there for you when you need him. jude is the kind of person that might take a while to truly get to know, but will never leave your side once you do. he's complex, mostly giving off a mysterious air about him. despite his curiosities and spontaneous demeanor, he tends to come off as soft spoken and quiet, though when you get to know him that changes. he's open to feeling anything, and would truly be a romantic if he weren't so sure that he as a person wouldn't satisfy someone completely. he doesn't feel quite ready to settle down yet, because he's still focused on finishing his own goals before setting goals with another person. this might make him seem selfish, but in his own right, it's just because he's trying to establish his own life before creating one with someone else.

desmond and jude. two very famous names, made notorious by none other than the beatles. why, then, on october 29th of 1981 did their parents bestow those names on them? maybe it was because the beatles happened to be the only american music francesca and alonzo vitale listened to. maybe it was because the beatles were so influential, and they hoped to continue their legacy. or maybe it was just because the names went so well together. whatever the reason. jude and desmond were born in miami, florida to two very happy and loving parents. the twins grew up in a supportive italian family--their cousins, their aunts and uncles, their grandparents showered the boys with love as they did with any of their kin. jude and desmond grew up as most twins do. very close, having their own way of doing things, always "the twins" and never "jude" and then "desmond." being twins had its downfalls, but jude grew up a very strong young man because of the support of his family.

being an italian family and traditionally catholic, there was no room for shortcomings in their family. this meant that when alonzo and francesca had marital troubles, divorce was out of the question. they worked through their problems the hard way, at the expense of the two fighting and arguing here and there. despite all of the misgivings their marriage had, they still loved their children and gave them the best life they possibly could. seven years into their marriage, they gave birth to another child. sadie mariela was born, giving the family even more reason to bond and become closer. throughout elementary and middle school, the boys had difficulty identifying themselves as individuals. they weren't the same person--in fact, jude and desmond were quite different, but to everyone else they were just "the boys." "the twins." a few rebellious choices (cutting his own hair, etc) they finally reached high school and became different people. they because jude and desmond. not the twins.

high school was filled with the usual things for a teenage boy. bad choices, secrets, lies, near death experiences. jude was a bit of a daredevil when it came to having fun and there was nothing he wouldn't try at least once. he was quite different from his twin, who was quiet, serious, and romantic. jude was a bit more out there, ready to take the world by storm. the boys decided to stay at home and go to the university of miami for college, since it would be cheaper in the long run and would afford them a chance to get situated before moving out. somewhere along the line, their eyes turned to los angeles. the city of angels. all their dreams and more seemed to be waiting for them there, and the boys decided to transfer to UCLA to get closer to the action. jude figured that psychology would be a simple major but quickly realized that business management would be the thing for him to throw his ideas around and start something big, something of his very own. the boys took after their father in their own ways, and jude's was that he wanted to own a large company, or create something bigger than himself. when jude came to switch majors, it was apparent that not all of his credits--or desmond's for that matter--transferred to UCLA when they did. instead of making up all of the ridiculous classes that didn't count anymore and wasting thousands of dollars, the boys decided to drop out.

then came the really hard part. finding a job in los angeles with a couple of credits and no degree from UCLA. he picked up, as a side job, working on manuscripts for movies and plays, thinking and dreaming up big plans for how to make them become reality. he eventually went to a film production company and asked for endorsement to begin directing and producing his own films. he started off small, with independently made and shot films, sort of low budget but honest and well thought up. he began to earn recognition, though not as much as he would necessarily like, and became sought after by companies as a director or producer, and sometimes both. now living in los angeles with his twin in a house that's a far cry from their worn down apartment in their college days, jude works for a meager living and loves every second of it, watching his ideas come to life on the big screen and creating something literally bigger than himself.
