history evaluated.
John Kiriakis was born March 22, 1983 in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1990 the Kiriakises moved to Park for Trevor's work. Trevor, John's father, is a ski instructor at Deer Valley Resort. The Kiriakis family lives on a small estate just outside the city limits. John was always a spoiled child but his father taught him the marks of a good business man and how to make a deal, so handling money has never been an issue.
In high school John was the captain of the baseball team, and the all-around good guy of Desert Rose High School. Freshman year John found a crush in Laurel Davis, the kind-hearted actress from Mississippi. To win her affections John auditioned for the school musical, Grease, and was awarded the role Kenickie. John figured the play would be painfully boring, but that it would be worth it to gain Laurel's heart. However, John enjoyed himself and actually made quite a few friends in the drama department. Opening night John sent Laurel a bouqet of roses from anonymous. All of the performances Laurel would recieve different gifts from anonymous, until the last night when John revealed his identity. At first Laurel was shy and surprised that a 'popular' guy like John would like a drama dork like her, but Laurel agreed to go on a date with him. A date that would lead in to four years of dating and an eventual marriage.
In 2000 Stone proposed, Laurel agreed to marry him and the two were then wed six months later. Laurel and Stone shared a happy life, they lived in a simple apartment with their dog Molly. They didn't want for anything but each other. Laurel went to the local university while John worked as a ski instructor at Deer Valley with his father.
Three years in to their marriage Laurel was killed in a car accident on her way home from school. The car hit and ran, and the driver was never found. After Laurel's death John became a bit unhinged. He felt his life was in shambles. Laurel had been his one true love, his commitment to her was one of a kind. Stone stopped believing in marriage and true love for awhile before realizing that Laurel was probably in heaven wondering what the hell John was thinking. Laurel had always thought love was a precious gift, and John wasn't going to let her down by being the pessimist he was not.
After his revelation John quit his job at the Deer Valley Resort and moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of a career in acting. John and Laurel had always talked about what it would be like to be famous and wishing that they could be professional actors. John had always thought it was a pipe dream, but to hold on to Laurel's memory he would do anything. It took John months to find a job but finally landed a gig on ABC's General Hospital as Johnny Zacharra. Johnny was on General Hospital for almost six years but recently quit to persue other oppurtunites. John is dating his co-star Kirsten Brady, who plays Robin Scorpio.

roleplay sample.
The coffee pot was brewing too slowly for my taste. It was around six in the morning and I had to get ready for my audition this morning. Down the hall I could hear Mr. and Mrs. Bernard fighting and the Yorkie next door was barking its tiny squeezable head off. It is way too early for this, I thought. I should still be in bed. All you people that are awake should be too. I am not a morning person in the least and all this noise was not helping. I laid my head down on the counter, not wanting to think about getting ready for the day until I had a cup of coffee in my hands. I need a new apartment, I thought, this place is too friggin' loud. I mean I should still be in bed. And all you people awake should be too.
Finally the coffee pot beeped, telling me that my cup of deliciousness was done brewing. With my eyes still only half open I poured myself a steaming cup of joe. I walked over to the fridge and found the cream just where I had left it, in the shelf on the door. The caramel colored drink smelled of vanilla, my favorite cream. Even the smell of coffee seemed to wake me up. I took a long sip and sighed as I finished as if it was the best thing I had ever tasted in my life. After finishing half the cup I put my coffee down on the counter and went to shower.
Kristen was still asleep in the bed when I walked in to my room. Trying to be quiet I tip-toed past her to the bathroom. I closed the door and turned on the shower. My body cringed at the loud noise of the water flowing out of the showerhead. Oh, well, Kristen can usually sleep through anything. An atomic bomb could be going off and she would still be snoozing. I stripped of my clothes as the small room started to fill with steam. I stepped in the shower, letting the hot water warm my cool skin. Ahhh....this felt good. Quickly I washed up my body and hair so that I would be ready in time and not be rushing to get out the door like usual. The audition was at nine but Kirsten still had to help me find something to wear. I'm terribly fashion-challenged. Once clean I turned off the shower and grabbed the towel from the rack that I had put up last fall. I dried my face and wrapped the towel around my waist before walking out in to the bedroom. It was cold and the hair on my skin stood straight up. In the bed Kirsten was stirring. I smiled, watching her eyes flutter open. "Morning sunshine."
