[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I'LL BE HERE FOREVER BY YOUR SIDE The Words: 717 The Outfit: HERE The Notes tag: leo. it hadn't necessarily been a long time since ryan and leo had gone out on an official "date" but it had been a while. ryan had told leo about her idea a while back. they hit a restaurant in manhattan and go out for a movie on the town. not just to any theater though. those were dull, boring, and ordinary. ryan had planned to take leo to watch taxi driver in tompkin's square park where they showed the film on a large screen for everyone in the park to see. it was something she'd read about in new york's summer events and it sounded like something they both might enjoy. it was scorsese anyways. who couldn't like a movie done by scorsese? she hadn't necessarily been planning anything for a while but she'd told leo she wanted to do this and to mark this particular day down in his calendar. it was the only day that the movie was playing and she didn't want to miss it. and it also sounded like one of the better options to view. sure some disney flicks or documentaries were all well and good but it wasn't necessarily something she wanted to see. she was craving a little action and this would do the trick. for ryan it wasn't something she'd seen before so that was a good enough reason for her. they'd been out for about an hour or so now, just having finished eating dinner at jules bistro where ryan had already tried out the food. it was incredible to say the least and the night was turning out to be a good one without having done what they'd already planned to do. in her opinion it could only get better from here. ryan had brought along a blanket, figuring that chairs would be too bulky to drag around and that she really didn't want to sit on the dank and dirty ground for a few hours as the movie played. a blanket would make life much more comfortable and would make her happy. she could use leo as a pillow if she felt she needed one. she walked with her arm in his, her free arm toting the blanket that was draped over her arm as they headed into the park. apparently the big screen showings were a popular event, one that ryan hadn't really considered, because they were about twenty minutes early for the start and the place was jam packed with people. oh well, she should have figured. but there were stands with speakers all over the park so ryan was pretty sure they wouldn't miss out on the experience if they sat back a ways and they were in luck when ryan noticed a couple who were getting up from the trunk of a tree. they had apparently noticed a better spot or a group of familiar faces and decided to go sit with them, leaving the base of the tree open for the taking. ryan headed over and loosened her arm from his as she opened up the blanket and handed him half of it. she shook out her half until the blanket was completely unfolded and set it down, kicking off her shoes and stepping onto the blanket. it was a nice feeling to be standing on the ground and yet not getting dirty. she took a seat beside leo who had already positioned himself with his back against the trunk of the tree. she scooted up against him, leaning into his body as his arms instinctively wound around her waist. ryan couldn't help but smile. this was just the norm for them. they were a simple couple with no need for the fluff or frivolity that some others tended to shoot for. that was fine for other people, just not for ryan and apparently not for leo. they'd come in so much under the radar that it had taken people a few minutes to notice that a famous, award winning actor and his girlfriend were within a stone's throw of their own seats, that was how low key ryan and leo liked to be. Leonardo didn’t really see anything that they did, which meant leaving they had to leave the house, a date kind of thing, he just liked to take his woman out and about sometimes, she deserved to be treated like a queen, so sometimes when he didn’t want to make any food, or they were just kind of bored of sitting inside, he would mention that they should go out and get something to eat, and they did just that, he didn’t have to label it and say that he was taking her on a date, she was his girlfriend, he treated her the same all of the time, he treated her well because he loved her. So tonight she had been saying that she wanted to go and see one of these movies, but it wasn’t the kind where you sat in a dark room and in leather seats, this was in a park, he had to get her to show him what she meant, meaning she sat on their computer and went through it with him, he was happy that she wanted to do something, so he agreed with her happily and allowed to make sure that she had it all sorted before telling his manager that he was booking a couple of days off around that time, the only reason she really let him do it was because he had told her that it was going to be a special night.

His manager knew exactly what he meant and when he showed her the ring, well she was happy for him, she even hugged him and gave him a couple more days off to let it all settle into his mind. He had taken his best friend Bianca out to find the ring, she was currently elsewhere, so he flew out to her, saying to Ryan that he was doing some interviews, and instead found himself looking at various rings and just getting so confused. Bianca tried to help but when he spotted the one, he could take his eyes off it, he tapped the glass cabinet and told the man that he wanted that one, Bianca loved it but was confused why he didn’t buy something that was huge, with a massive rock, but he made it clear to her that this was the ring for Ryan, it was beautiful and subtle, it was elegant and would just look amazing upon the ring finger of his girlfriend. They went for something to eat before they finally got to the movie place, he was full and rubbed his full stomach happily as they strolled down the walkway towards the park, he was happy to have his girlfriend stood beside him and the ring hidden nicely in his jean pocket, he was ready for this, he had been preparing himself for this for weeks, he was very happy he had found someone he could ever consider doing this with.

As they got to a lovely spot that was right in front of a tree, he watched her as she placed the blanket down and they both sat down, she kicked off her shoes but he kept his one, he snuggled next to her, his hand automatically wrapping around her waist and held her tight. She spoke up before he turned his head towards her as the little commercials were going on before he smirked a little and kissed the top of her forehead. ”This was a brilliant idea, from my brilliant girlfriend” he grinned, kissing her forehead once more and then rest his chin on top of her head, as the movie began.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I'LL BE HERE FOREVER BY YOUR SIDE The Words: 554 The Outfit: HERE The Notes tag: leo. this was a brilliant idea wasn't it? ryan just couldn't help but smile. this was the first real thing she'd wanted to go out and do for a long time. back when they'd first started dating ryan had suggested skating lessons. boy had that been fun. ryan had been sore for what felt like forever after that one but it was worth it. she'd seen leo fall on his ass, she'd raced him and won, it was all just a lot of fun and definitely some big laughs. but that was just about the last real thing they had planned to do together. since then there had been a lot of spontaneous outings but nothing that they'd ever taken the time to plan. this whole thing took planning. ryan had to ask him if he could make himself available for that day in particular, hoping that it wouldn't be that she ended up going alone. but leo had taken the time to make the time and that made ryan happy. she didn't even know why she wanted the random date, it just felt like beyond time to have one. it wasn't like they never left the house but sometimes one just needed to plan for something. other people planned to go out to dinner or something but ryan and leo always did that. that didn't make having dinner with him any less special it just wasn't something she wanted to plan out. if she was going to plan out a date for them then she wanted it to be, at least in the slightest, a little unique. what could be more unique then seeing a movie in a giant park, surrounded by tons of people. this was like a little mini coachella only without the music and without it being a two week event. "oh, so you're just noticing now?" she teased, hushing her voice by the end as the beginning credits for the movie began. she chuckled, snuggling closer to him as her eyes picked up to the screen and she began to watch. out of all the movies she'd ever seen in her life, this one wasn't one of those. ryan had missed out on a lot of good, classic movies and she knew that but she was slowly trying to add to the list of goodies that had otherwise been missed. there were a lot of crappy movies in this world but the list of ones that were worth the time to watch were finite and ryan planned to see them all before her inevitable end and before so many good, soon to be classics, came out that her list would grow too long to fathom. the beginning scenes began to play out as ryan looked back over her shoulder at him, "have you seen this one before? i don't know that i even asked back when i was looking through the movies that were playing."

He was happy that she had planned this, it gave him a little time to just enjoy being with her, he had been working hard with the new television show that he was on now, since Life Intertwined had been cancelled a few months previous, now he was one of the male leads in a supernatural drama called Enslaved, he loved working on that set, it was more thrilling and he got himself more involved, on Life, it was all good and he was known for being the guy that made people laugh, being a jock and all but in Enslaved, it fitted his personality a little better, it was slightly darker and he was able to feel a little more like a man. He remembered when they first went out, she had taken him skating and well, it all ended with a lot of laughs and a bunch of bruises, mainly on his rear end thanks to falling over a couple of times, even to the point where he had to crawl to the side of the ring to help himself up, she won a race against him and they had a bunch of fun, they ate fast food on the way home and later that night they sat in his large bathtub together and just talked for a little bit, he enjoyed those small moments with her, his favourite had always been when they were together in silence, from the first time he cuddled behind her as they fell asleep, to the way she looked as she was dreaming, of the small groans she made as she tossed in her sleep, she had given him some sleepless nights with her incredible beauty.

When she said that he was only noticing now, he grinned over to her and allowed the smile to play on his lips for a little longer than usual, she made him so happy and as one hand held her close to him, the other lay over his jean pocket, feeling the ring case underneath, if she said yes she was going to make him the happiest man in the world, he was so nervous but luckily for him, and his actor background, he was a little better at hiding it. She then asked him if he had seen this movie before, he wasn’t a big fan of watching movies, he normally watched them when there was something he was looking for, a certain way that someone acted or so forth, I mean he just didn’t seem to enjoy them as much, as an actor he was always looking for the small flaws and the way he could have done it better, unlike most people he didn’t sit there and just watch a movie, it was like he analyzed it. ”No I don’t think I have” he whispered back to her as he watched the screen unfold the movie that they had picked together, well she had picked it to be honest and was just happy to be sitting next to her, he had never felt this way with someone before, he felt a little emasculated because of it, for someone who hid his feelings for so long, he was sitting there wanting to open his heart up to this one woman.

He then awaited until it was around half way through the film, he couldn’t wait any longer, he sighed before snuggling his head next to hers, turning his mouth so it was pressed next to her ear, his hand moving into his pocket and pulled out the ring case, keeping it slightly hidden for a moment before speaking in a very low whisper, just for her. ”Ryan” the only word that was spoken before he flipped open the case and showed her the ring, looking right into her eye to catch her reaction ”Will you marry me?” he asked before his eyes still searched hers, seeing if he could read what was going on behind them.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I'LL BE HERE FOREVER BY YOUR SIDE The Words: 612 The Outfit: HERE The Notes tag: leo. ryan could have never fathomed being as happy as she was. it sounded so sappy, so very unlike ryan but she really was happy. happiness changed people. it turned the most bitter shrews into smiling, tolerable people and the biggest pricks into people worth being in the same vicinity of. ryan had pretty much been one of those bitter shrews back then. sure she'd put on a smile but her eyes hadn't been kind and neither had her words. she'd been very uncaring about some of the things that she'd said in an effort to push people away. she had liked pushing people away because it meant that she didn't have to worry about anyone else. no one else's feelings got in the way of how ryan lived her life, because she didn't want to change herself for a single soul and that was the way she believed the world worked. that when she gave someone an inch they would take a mile and demand all of these things from her. she just hadn't wanted to lose herself for someone else. that hadn't happened with leo. she'd taken a chance with every outcome in the world playing through her mind except for this one, except total happiness. she figured they would have ended a long time ago. that two people such as themselves with the kind of reputations they had couldn't make it, and she'd surprised the hell out of herself. she had been so willing to do things with him, for him, but it never felt like some huge change. it didn't feel like she was sacrificing anything. because he gave to her what she was lacking, what she didn't even know she was missing. that changed everything. suddenly she began realizing what she had deprived herself of for all these years and she was willing to test herself to see what all she was willing to give. she wanted to take risks instead of being afraid of them now and it seemed as though now taking risks with him wasn't risky at all. she was just living her life with someone else now. that was something she could do, something she didn't even know she was capable of. she nodded as she heard leo speak about not having seen the movie and leaned against him, letting the film overtake her senses and just reel her in. that was the greatest part about being in the industry without being in front of the industry. she painted faces, made scars, and made people look beat to hell but she could still watch a movie and see it as entertainment. she didn't break it down and see all the outside components even though she knew what was there. she didn't overanalyze anything because she didn't have to and that was a relief. it meant she could get lost in the world that a particular movie was creating for it's viewers and meant she could enjoy it all the more. leo's voice caught her attention about halfway through the movie, pulling her away from what she'd been so engrossed in. "yeah?" she whispered as she pulled her eyes away from the screen to look back at leo. her eyes went wide as his words registered in her mind and she looked down at the ring. it was beautiful and most of all understated. it wasn't some huge rock that would drag her to the bottom of a pool if she dove in the deep end. it was exactly what she would have wanted. she looked back at leo and smiled, nodding, "yes. i will." she said quietly as she leaned in and kissed him. created by ADE! The twenty seven year old was definitely not the type of guy to get all emotional and talk about his feelings, so when he actually began to develop some for Ryan, well it was a weird and confusing moment for me, to distinguish what was really happening and what he thought was happening, at parts he thought it was just a phase, like he was having a little bit of a puppy love situation, but then when he realised that he couldn’t imagine his life without her in it, in the simplest moments and when he achieved great things. He just wanted her to be there and be able to see the man he could be, the man he wanted to be, the man she was changing him into. They say that in love you should not change the person you want to be with, but at some point, you will look back and see that a person has changed, no matter how small, because that is what love can do to someone, they can make a bad person, a selfish person, they can make that person kind, they can make them forgive and they can allow them to love someone, to changed to become the best possible version of themselves, so that they can love that person efficiently.

The years had tested him, they had knocked him down and they had really tried to keep him down, whatever fate was out there for him wanted him to suffer while he was younger, they wanted him to take the hard road for a short while and he wanted so much to believe that they did that, so that he could be here right now, in this moment with the woman he loved and to be able to appreciate everything that he had. He never felt like he was taking a risk with Ryan, he always found it so easy to find the right thing to do for her, to make decisions with her in mind. Fine, he knew that his career suffered a tiny little bit because he was so bothered about doing what was best for not only him for Ryan too, to make sure he was not away from her for too long, but then again, he was internationally known and people still loved him, he still had a brilliant job and he was happy, he really couldn’t ask for anything more. To be honest, he was proud of the person that he had become, he was glad that he was able to get through that tough stage in his life and become a better person because of it, he wasn’t going to turn around and say that he was some god sent now, he was still the cocky and sarcastic the majority of the time, but he was at least more approachable now.

As he whispered over to her during the movie he awaited for her reaction before seeing the smile on her face, he smiled too before feeling her lips gently move closer to his and they embraced in a gentle but passionate kiss. He kissed her softly back before as he pulled away he took the ring out of the ring case and slipped it gently onto her finger, placing the case back into his jean pocket and looked at her, his hand still holding hers, the one that had newly received a beautiful ring, he then leaned in again and kissed her, once, twice, three times before letting his face just linger near hers ”I love you so much” he grinned, kissing her nose.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I'LL BE HERE FOREVER BY YOUR SIDE The Words: 730 The Outfit: HERE The Notes tag: leo. ryan had never seen him like this before and she had to say that she enjoyed it. the two of them had a tenancy to keep their feelings between one another and not let in the rest of the world which was nice. ryan had no problem with their lives belonging to just them and no one else. but there were times when ryan just wished they could be two strangers walking around downtown new york, hands clasped and looking up at one another with their full emotion in their eyes. honestly she really had no problem just doing such a thing, because she knew how she felt and she didn't care who knew it, but to have her life broadcast like that, it made it hard. it wasn't any wrench in their relationship by far but it sometimes took away from the ease that the pair of them could have from time to time. it was hard to just shut out the rest of the world when any time your hands reached out to one another, you looked at your significant other, or you kissed you could hear the loud flicker of some twenty cameras snapping away in the hopes that they could catch every last minute. their life wasn't one to be modeled after. they shouldn't be seen as some kind of power couple that every teenage girl would see in the news and hope to someday find, thus setting the bar to such ridiculously high standards that they never truely found love. ryan didn't want to be someone's role model. that was why she was a makeup artist and not someone standing in front of the camera acting out lines. that was something leo could pull off, such that ryan could hardly believe it, but that wasn't something ryan was capable of. it was just too much pressure for one person. she hadn't signed up for it. it was in no way a deal breaker. ryan was happy to leave her private life in private but in this one moment she really could just forget about everything. what was happening was way more important than worrying about who might be taking a picture of them. she soaked up his words like oxygen, like she was living off those very words and they gave her the biggest burst of life. it was hard to explain but she'd never felt like this before which was why she'd known that saying yes to him was the right thing to do. it was further proof that she really wouldn't know what to do with herself if she was without him. he gave her a sense of purpose when she'd already though she had one, multiplying everything she could have ever hoped to feel and giving her the sense of fulfillment that she'd never had before. she'd known that she was in love with him but the extent of which hadn't really hit her until now, in this very moment, sitting in the park amongst other movie goers who were too preoccupied, thankfully, to see what was going on around them. the movie was a good one, definitely a thriller, and was good at capturing one's attention so that was one less worry ryan had to not think about. because she couldn't think of anything in this moment but him. an a-bomb could have taken out the screen they were watching the movie on and ryan wouldn't have had a clue. she still couldn't believe this was happening but she knew she wasn't dreaming. the unfamiliar weight on her finger was just too real, the happiness that practically radiated from leo like white-hot light was beyond dreaming up as well. she kissed him back, finally breaking into a quiet, breathy laugh. it was kind of contagious. he was beaming, she was beaming, and if anyone had noticed at this point it was obvious what had happened. "i love you." her voice mirrored his in a whisper as she curled up tighter to his side, nuzzling and kissing his neck before she laid her head back on his chest, all smiles as her eyes turned back to the movie. she was totally lost in what had happened and she probably wouldn't have a clue what she'd missed until the end but she didn't care. tonight was the best night of her life. created by ADE! For the kind of guy that he was, he never used to be romantic, he was the kind of guy that slept with a woman and then would wait around until she left before he could really feel comfortable again, and if they wanted to cuddle of get close to him, he really didn’t mind telling them where to go, he got what he wanted out of a woman and then they were nothing to him, his past didn’t allow him to get close to people, he did when he had just got out of the army and people screwed him over, he was not ready to be hurt again, he wasn’t ready for a long time, so the wall just built higher and higher, making it unable for him to show emotion. He was happy now, he had been happy since he finally allowed himself to just let himself fall in love with someone, he allowed his heart to get something that it had been craving for so many years, he put himself fully into this with Ryan. He knew it got hard when the cameras were all on him but I guess over the years he got used to people knowing his business, and well, Ryan had learnt very quickly to get used to it too and now Leonardo knew that he loved her. He loved her completely and well, he knew that he was making the right decision in asking her to marry him, and he couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with her, calling her his wife

He found it quite easy to have a relaxed and easy life with Ryan, they still went out, they both still worked hard at their jobs but when they wanted to be by themselves, when they wanted to be so called normal, well they could be, I mean it did mean that half of the time they had to hide away or maybe not leave the house, but it still worked for them. He was never the best with words, sometimes he could say the right thing at the right time and this was one of those times, even though it wasn’t too many words, it was enough to see the light shine bright in his fiancée eyes, he was so happy right now, it was unbelievable and unable to think of anything else but the future he was planning with his wife to be. He was glad that he was doing this out in public, he wanted to seem like any other guy asking his girl to marry him, and he was doing with people surrounding them but it was still there moment, just them. Leonardo did see himself not getting out as much with friends but then again a lot of the time people went through their little puppy love stage at the age of fifteen or sixteen, when they spent tons of time with just one person, he was just a little delayed with his.

He watched her every expression, he wanted to capture that moment with her, he wanted to live in I forever with her and I guess from her saying yes to his question, he was going to be able see that for the rest of his days. As he kissed her he could feel the passion behind it all, I mean there was so much love there and he was feeling it with the one person he wanted too, Ryan and Ryan only. She said that she loved him and they cuddled a little more, he moved one of his hands to wrap around her waist and held her close, the other taking hold of her hand and letting his fingers gently smooth over her skin, his attention trying to go back to the movie.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I'LL BE HERE FOREVER BY YOUR SIDE The Words: 810 The Outfit: HERE The Notes tag: leo. it was so ridiculously hard to focus on the movie with what had happened. every once in a while ryan would just start beaming and would look down at her hand in astonishment. she couldn't believe it. most of all she couldn't believe this had come out of leo. she knew that somewhere down deep he was a bit of a romantic but he'd done a damn good job of keeping this whole thing from her. she realized that the funniest part of all of this was just how much she'd had a hand in setting all this up without even realizing it. she had suggested the theater in the park thing and told him what dates to make sure he was home for. she had suggested hitting the wonderful jules bistro because it was so close and one of their favorite "fancier" restaurants. without knowing it she'd given him all the hints and opportunities he'd needed to pull this off. all without even trying. ryan wouldn't fish for something like an engagement ring. that was all on leo. she would have never pushed him to ask such a thing of her if he wasn't ready and she certainly hoped that leo knew that. she didn't want anything he wasn't ready to give. in her mind it was always in consideration of him. ryan already knew what she wanted. she knew that should he have asked she would have said yes. had she expect it to come so soon after coming to this conclusion? well no. she figured they would have dated for much longer before they came to swapping i love you’s and handing off rings. but she couldn't deny that it made her happier than ever to have this happen now. ryan figured that if anything, neither of them would be ready to completely commit for a while. hell ryan still owned an apartment. she just didn't stay there at all, if ever. they would make small leaps and bounds. nothing too serious. they would make small plans here and there, pick a date somewhere down the line, but they wouldn't really do the whole thing until they could look one another in the eye and just know that the time was right. she knew she would marry him without a doubt. she couldn't imagine anything more in this world then committing to the one man who she'd felt a desire to change for. and she had. no one would have recognized this person as ryan some six or seven months ago. hell she was surprised by how much she'd changed in such a short time. but a great number of tragic and traumatizing things had needed to happen for the change and though she hated going through what she had, ryan knew that the end result was more than she could have ever dreamed of. if there had needed to be a hell to walk through in order to get where she was now, ryan was glad to have had to face it. she'd come out stronger, and probably better than most women who had been in her position. there were many who had turned to some form or another to drown out the pain or had just let it eat away at them so badly that their minds turned to a chaotic mumbo-jumbo of pain, agony, and utter break. there were some who had faced what ryan had and never truly recovered. though ryan had changed, she didn't let what happened to her run her life anymore. she didn't let it define her. and it was much easier to live that way with a strong man at her side like leo. he made the worry go away. she didn't feel alone when she was with him, protectively wrapped up in his arms. when with him she felt like nothing, no one, could touch her. when she just about couldn't stand sitting and being calm any longer, the movie came to a close and people began packing up their things. "come on." she said eagerly as she popped to her feet, holding out a hand to help him up and then tugging the blanket out from under their feet, haphazardly twirling it in her arms. "we need to go home. right now." she took his hand, rising up to her tip toes to kiss him hungrily, without a care about who could see or what they were now seeing. she didn't care if people saw the ring and put two and two together. she just didn't care at all. all she had eyes for was leo. everyone else was just a mist within a black haze, they didn't even register. once back on her feet ryan took his hand and they both hurried out of the park toward leo's apartment. they had a lot to celebrate tonight. -- END -- created by ADE!
