Acting and the medical field were completely unlike each other in terms of stability, which he understood, but he didn't put much thought into it anymore. Where he had stressed before, he could loosen up and allow himself to enjoy the fact that he was the new Superman. His smile was evident as he led his newest love interest into the Beach House Bar. The two were dressed well; Hayden had been saving up tip money to splurge on this special date night. It was their first date, but it had begun awkwardly. Kaesyn seemed like she was in a major rush, and Hayden kept on telling her that they were going to be on the dot for the reservation. She hadn't even invited him in, but he didn't notice that until she acted odd about him getting close to the door. The two seemed find at this point, though, so he allowed her to lead the way as they walked into the crowded place. He could see that some people were leaving as there was an exhibition in town with the local museum. Tourists fled to the area, leaving most of the restaurants blank by eight at night. Hayden was thankful for that, especially because it would last for a few nights, giving him an opportunity to take a few days off. Even with filming, he worked nights. He had some shame when it came down to being a country boy lackey, but he was getting used to that and the money. He needed it to pay rent. "Wow. This weather is spectacular," Hayden commented, holding up his arms as if to feel the breeze. A soft gust of wind blew, ruffling his hair ever-so-slightly. He pulled out Kaesyn's chair for her before taking his own seat across the table. The atmosphere was relaxed, but the small sound of bustling along with the live music gave the place energy. Hayden had forgotten what a date like this felt like. "You also look spectacular, Kaesyn." He grinned at his date. She truly was a sight to see. He wanted the night to go perfectly. He had no idea what to expect of Kaesyn, especially after the mysterious stunt she pulled, but he was going to make the most out of the night with her. "Hello. My name is Kevin and I'll be serving you today." Their waiter grinned at them, taking a look at Kaesyn that was a little bit more polite than Hayden would have liked. Hayden narrowed his eyes at him slightly before taking a look at the menu. "We'll have wine. Does that sound okay, Kaesyn?" he asked before taking a look at the bar. Those drinks were off-limits for him nowadays, but he always liked looking at the way the bar was set up. The lights looked so nice in the restaurant. As he drew his eyes back to Kaesyn's face, he noticed a couple being seated right beside them. The face was far too familiar. "Oh, shit," he mumbled. Nowhere to hide now. [/style]

”No, honey. Mommy’s going to dinner, cause you ate everything here.” Kaesyn said to the young boy with a giggle before tucking him into bed. She hated leaving him there at night, even if it was only for a couple of hours. Of course, she wasn’t leaving him alone. Her superhero of a babysitter was there for her. Of course, the babysitter had always been there for her especially through those hectic days in New York. Glancing at the clock in the hallway, she realized that she had to finish getting dressed so she could leave. The only trouble with that was: this was Kaesyn’s first day in almost two years. She knew they were going to dinner, but that was about all she knew. Well, that and the fact that she was going with Hayden. He hadn’t really told her where they were going and there was nothing worse than spending all day getting ready for a date just to be overdressed. Then again, it was around eight at night. She was sure that she could get away with wearing any dress with a nice fit, as long as it wasn’t a ball gown. Deciding on a dress, Kae made her way to the bathroom where she showered and started to work on her hair.

As nerve-wracking as dates were, she was extremely excited. It had been a long time since Kae had genuinely wanted to get out and get to know a guy. And she wanted to make sure that everything tonight went well. Looking up in the mirror, she realized that she was more than likely running late. That was Kaesyn for you. She always went about getting ready enough time in advance but, somewhere along the way, she always managed to fall behind somewhere along the way. Putting the finishing touches on her hair, she walked into the bedroom and replaced her towel with one of her favorite dresses. It hugged her body just right, and it didn’t make it seem like she was trying too hard. Even as a mother, she could pull it off. That was a beautiful thing. Hearing a knock on her door, she moved quickly to get her heels on before the babysitter got to the door. Knowing that she wouldn’t, she did the next best thing and showed up behind it just as it was opening. ”I’m sorry,” she said, trying to hold back how frantic she was. She didn’t want him to see how nervous she was. ”When I’m not in manager mode, I’m terrible at managing time.” she said with a sincere smile, throwing up a wave in the babysitter’s direction and closing the door behind her and Hayden.

Walking up to the restaurant, she thought to reach for his hand with her free one but instead watched him reach to feel the breeze. ”This night is spectacular.” she said quickly, admiring all the lights against the dark, blue sky. Although she couldn’t exactly see the stars, she could imagine just how pretty they would have blended into the lights. She sat down, flashing a gratuitous smile. She waited for him to sit down before looking around. He knew how to pick a place and make her more comfortable. Yes, she was still nervous. But she was definitely less nervous now that they had gotten there without her tripping over her heels and face-planting into the concrete. ”Awh, thank you. You’re such a gentleman. And you look great.” He looked a lot like a Clark Kent that had some kind of fundraiser to go to; and nothing was sexier than a dresser up Clark Kent. Well, nothing but a dressed up Hayden Scott. The waiter’s voice forced her to take her attention off Hayden and pull her out of her head. Opening her mouth slightly to speak, Hayden beat her to it. Usually she would have liked to order for herself, as a manager being in charge was her thing. But, she appreciated the fact that Hayden chose the wine as it had been exactly what she would have chosen. ”Would’ve chosen it myself.” she confirmed, answering his question. ”Oh, shit,” she heard Hayden say. That couldn’t have been the wrong response, unless she’d heart the question wrong. Then she noticed his face, one she knew all too well. If she had spotted Evan in this restaurant that same look would have been plastered on her face, ”What’s wrong?” Kaesyn whispered, hoping to regain his attention.

No, normally she'd explain she was afraid of heights, and that would be the end of the conversation. Thank goodness. Tonight, she was certain there would be zero run-in's with Mr. Fear. Unless Donovan decided to dine on top of a fifty foot building, right on the ledge, Tiffany knew she was in the clear. Besides, her boyfriend wouldn't dare do something so cruel. Tiff didn't say much about herself to anyone, really; however, her specific fears had been one of the first topics they covered in getting to know each other. "Hey," Tiffany smiled, kissing his plump lips when he arrived. She was nervous for their first true date since he'd left New York. Tiff knew he could do so much better, yet he managed to stick around. His reason was far beyond her. Most people were taken aback by her reservations. Not Donovan. Somehow, he embraced her strange qualities, just as she cared for him. As they arrived at the restaurant, her hand was set within his. As Tiffany took a look around, she wondered if her attire was too casual for the occasion. She'd considered dressing up, but the only dress she'd brought with her was missing the belt she used to accessorize. To where an unfinished ensemble was definitely a no-go in Tiffany Elaine Prescott's eyes. Instead, she opted for an ashy tank top and slim-fit, black jeans. Paired with a necklace and her golden watch, she may have pushed the lines by passing it off as "dressy casual". Her outfit was nothing but "casual." Oops. The hostess looked over her seating arrangement and gestured for the happy couple to follow. Tiffany stepped forward and followed the hostess like any lost puppy would. Her face showed mild gratitude, a rarity for Tiff. Sometimes, people joked that she only possessed one emotion. It was very Bella Swan of them, if Tiffany said so herself. Seated and comfortable, Tiffany pulled out her menu. Donovan was sitting across from her, so she took a peek at him. He was an attractive man. Most every man is Hollywood was. His words were still so strong, even after nearly ten years of his absence. Tiffany remembered articles of Neal's life no one would ever think to preserve. "Oh, could we also get some calamari to start off?" she added, glancing at Kevin, the waiter. It was odd for Donovan to be in a relationship that wasn't centered around sex. It was odd for him to actually care about the person's feelings, and be interested in what she liked, and her dreams. Drew was the only one he had ever really cared for, but, it would never be spoken of. Tiffany was the first girl that could make him forget Drew, if only for a little bit. They seemed to have so much in common, so closed off from the world, that it brought them closer together. Though, he had a feeling her demons were much larger than his, he didn't pry, didn't question; just understood.

He honestly couldn't wait for her to arrive in L.A., unfamiliar feelings of missing someone plaguing him. He felt guilty for canceling his trip back to New York, his calender being edited for a scene to be filmed Saturday. Donovan hadn't expected her to make the trip to him, feeling even worse knowing that she wasn't a fan of heights. It made him appreciate her even more, knowing he would have to make it up to her. That's what their date that night was for, as a thanks for her troubles, and a sorry that she had to go through that. Returning her kiss, he smiled, taking her hand in his.

It had been a while since they had been on a date, if he excluded their skype dates periodically whenever they both had time. While they're relationship had been put on hold while he was in Los Angeles for filming, they did their best. Technology aided, skype, texting, phone calls, it all kept them in touch, but, her physical presence trumped them all. Donovan would never admit it, but he wasn't as confident as he put on. He had fears that she could do better than him, and while he was away, her Mr. Perfect would magically appear. She had been the only one that could ever compete against Drew in his eyes, and feared she was his last chance at a meaningful relationship. "I'm glad you could make it out," He smiled, bringing her hand to his lips. She really did deserve someone who could give all of their self to her.

Following after the two women, Donovan found himself soon sitting across from Tiffany, though his eyes were skimming the menu. He looked up at the sound of their waiter, watching is girl friend as she quickly dismissed Kevin's question. "I'll have the same." He didn't know why Tiffany didn't like alcohol, and would probably never ask. But, he did his best to avoid it when with her. He respected her views, or fears it seemed. He gave her a smile as she ordered, often, back in New York, trusting her with ordering. He liked to try new things, but was never brave enough to venture out. "Calamari? You like that?" He'd never had it, but was willing to try. It was something new to add to his growing folder of things learned about his girlfriend. Girlfriend, the word was still foreign to him.

"I hope this place is ok, one of the guys on set suggested it." Donovan admitted sheepishly. He wanted to show her a good time, but, L.A. was not his regular stomping ground. He had no idea what was good and what wasn't, other than the In and Out around the corner from his hotel, and the set food that seemed to be never ending. Drew had left before it was time for him to get ready, leaving him to his own devices on dress choice. A pair of dark jeans and a long sleeved gray shirt was what he ended up stepping out in that night, though before even making it to his car he had rolled the sleeves up. "You look nice tonight," It was as if it had just clicked, the gears in his brain finally moving once again. Charming Donovan was finally present, feeling relaxed in her presences.

New but glorious, their relationship was blossoming into something that was meaningful. It went against all that he had ever believed in. He took another look at her dress. It was almost like a Homecoming dress, but on her tan, fit body, she looked incomparably adult. Hayden felt like a toddler, sitting across from someone as regal as she. A curl of hair fell in front of her eyes for a moment as she looked down at the menu. "The steak sounds amazing," he commented as he looked down at the menu. He felt like he wasn't being as smooth as usual: a weakness of pretty girls who made him feel inexplicably sentimental. Born and raised in a small town thirty minutes from Washington, D.C, Hayden was always one to pick the simple things in life. He wasn't necessarily minimalistic, but at this point in his life, he just wanted to get by. Luxury didn't satisfy him. He was ambitious, not greedy; dedicated, not tired. He chose to work hard and play little because it was what he felt was necessary. Hayden sneaked another glance at the table parallel to theirs, but the hair of the blond-haired doppelganger of Tiffany covered her face. His eyes darted back to Kaesyn. He was trying his best focus, but he felt obligated to check out who it was. "Know what you want yet?" Kevin's voice asked. Hayden looked up to see the thirty-something-year-old staring down his nose at Hayden. Hay took a look at Kaesyn. "If you're ready," he nodded. He noticed that the wine was already poured. Smooth Kevin. Smooth Kevin was also checking out Hayden's date again. All other thoughts forgotten, Hayden initiated another glare to avert the man's attention from his gorgeous date's breasts. Kevin didn't look menacing, only distracted by Kaesyn's inescapable allure. "I'll have the eight ounce steak. Rare. Thanks," he nodded politely. Even with the man's insistent gawking, Hayden did not forget his manners. He waited for Kaesyn to order and watched the man walk away to put in their orders. It made Hayden grateful that he didn't have to wait tables. In a way, he was glad that Kae had no idea about Hayden's financial situation. She would probably try to pay for dinner if she knew. She was too kind for her own good. "To a wholesome night and a successful first date," Hayden said boldly as he lifted his wine glass to hers. The clang satisfied Hayden before he took his first sip of the red wine. It was rich and bursting with flavor. When he put down his wine, his cell phone fell out of his pocket. His fidgeting caused it to propel itself closer to the table beside them. Hayden sighed, picking the napkin from his lap, setting it on the chair, and leaning over to pick up the Samsung phone on the floor. "So sorry," he said politely as he leaned over. Kaseyn just sat there, thinking she had done something wrong. Then again, running late was something that would constitute as wrong. But she wasn’t entirely sure if that were the case. After all, he had been more than understanding of her slightly lack of time management and, if anything, he didn’t seem like he was all that ready to leave the house in the first place. Maybe that was it. Maybe he should have shown him the house. Or at least given him some time to look around the living room or something. That was just how rusty she was when it came to dating. She couldn’t remember the last time that she’d invited anyone in or the last time that she’d shown anyone her house. Well, not including clients. For some reasons, she was sure that each of them had barged into her house at some point and that was about the only way that they had gotten a good look at her house. That and an introduction to the one person that she made sure to keep away from the industry. She knew deep down that was the reason she hadn’t let him stay in the house for long and, now that she was thinking about it, she felt really bad.

”Hayden,” she said quickly, repeating his name in the same manner that he’d spoken her. ”No big deal, as long as everything’s good.” Sitting her clutch on the edge of the table, she placed her hands closer to his. She didn’t touch them though, not too sure how that would go. Yeah, they were on a date and she liked him, she just wasn’t sure of herself yet. This, although she’d been here before, was foreign territory to her. Kae didn’t know how to operate in a relationship anymore and she’d become okay with that. He looked at her dress and her face flushed instantly. This dress had never failed her before, but it looked like she made the wrong choice tonight. Next time, if there was a next time, she would have to start getting dressed earlier. She all but buried her head between the covers of the menu as she searched for something that sounded good to her stomach. Focusing on the pasta, she looked away when the waiter—Kevin—walked back over to them. All but four seconds after he poured the wine she wanted to take a large gulp of the liquid. But the chances of her doing so and Kevin refilling her glass before Hayden noticed, thus giving away the fact that she was nervous, were very little.

”Know what you want yet?” Kae smiled sweetly as she nodded her head in response. ”Ummm, I’ll have the chicken marinara with a house salad.” She began to pass her menu back to him just as she was bombarded with questions. He asked if she wanted Cesar salad or a house salad, she asked for a simple house with no tomatoes. He asked if she wanted her chicken cooked in white or red wine. She thought is over, deciding that she would already be indulging in her fair share of wine tonight. There was no need to put in the extra effort to get her drunk. ”Thank you.” she finally pushed out when he had finished questioning her. The table feel silent. Even for someone that hadn’t been on a date in very long knew that silence wasn’t all that good. Actually, she knew that it was really bad. But she took the time to think about her pride and joy, hoping he wasn’t giving the babysitter too much trouble. Even though it had to be closer to nine at night then eight and it was past his bed time, she was sure that little boy could still give anyone a run for their money.

”To a successful first date,” Kaesyn said, trying not to blush and ssmiling brightly. ”and, hopefully, other successful ones.” He was a gift, an all around good guy. There weren’t many people that could make her smile when she was this nervous or when she’d thought she’d screwed something up. Take a sip of her wine, refraining from gulping down the entire glass, she nodded in satisfaction. Maybe she should have gotten her chicken good in red wine, especially if there were using this particular wine. But Hayden’s phone mishap, which landed him more focused on the table next to them than the amount of wine in her glass, gave her a chance to do just that. As he leaned down to pick it up, something she would toss into the adorable category (clumsiness was always something that made her smile), she gripped the glass firmly before pouring the liquid down her throat in seconds.

They were a nice storybook touch, she could say. As a writer, her deepest pleasures stemmed from plot-worthy scenes in life. One day, she'd cast a nice Skype date into a movie, if only for the sake of cliches. Right now, she was caught in a minimum-wage salary working for a theater in New York. Her boyfriend was an emerging face in the industry. How that happened, Tiffany wasn't sure she'll ever truly know. Tiffany grinned as his lips met her hand. The action itself was so chivalrous. Although she was bound to be used to nearly telling Donovan about her brother, she was often flabbergasted in the moments directly after. He was the first man she'd come close to saying anything about him to. All of her friends in New York believed she was an only child. As guilty as she felt lying to them, she couldn't imagine how terrible she'd feel admitting that she had a brother but killed him. "This place seems great," Tiffany assured him. Secretly, she thought him taking suggestions for dining was adorable. "Adorable" probably wasn't a word Donovan wanted to be described with, though. Cute? Too feminine. Sweet? That worked. About the time she was tempted to call him out for how "sweet" his gesture had been, a nearby crash distracted her. Many people turned towards the sound-- human instincts. Tiffany had been jumpier than one might consider normal. Her eyes pinpointed the phone and then the phone's carrier... Somewhere in the air, Donovan's comment about her attire was lost. She turned back to her boyfriend for a mere second, smiled, and returned her gaze to the man with the phone. He had a long face with piercing blue eyes. His dark hair was styled casually, probably with gel. His entire being was a brutal flashback to the days of the old. The skeletons in her closet were tired of being ignored. They decided to awaken. There was only one person (still alive) that could evoke vehemence so strong. Hayden Scott. Neal's best friend. The one who fled after his death, leaving her in shambles to face the guilt on her own. "Hayden?" she addressed him, not even sure if he was the original. Hard copies were possible. The plastic surgery industry was booming.
